A hot herbal foot soak before bed is the everyday Chinese answer to cold feet and a long day. We press the herbs into a ball that fizzes and dissolves: nothing to steep, nothing to clean up.
Mugwort, ginger, atractylodes, Sichuan pepper, poria, sweet flag. Steamed, boiled and sun-dried the traditional way, then pressed with sea salt.
Drop one ball in a basin of warm water. It fizzes and dissolves completely. 15 minutes, nightly.
A single ball at the register is the trial. The 16-ball tin is the repeat purchase, about $1.87 per soak at retail.
